This week, we have a very special treat for everyone.  Will everyone was trying to figure out what conference we are in this week, we were going back and forth with Notre Dame blogger The Subway Domer.  Here is what we could get out of him.

Pitt Script Blog: Brian Kelly's tenure as ND's coach has had more than its share of bumps, both on and off the field.  What is the general feeling from the fanbase on Kelly?

Subway Domer: In Kelly We Trust. Yes, the road has been bumpy, but most of the criticism is coming from the media and not the fanbase. If anyone is calling for Kelly's head they are labeled as an absolute moron and cast aside- and rightfully so.

I love him, and I have the authority to speak for 98% of the Notre Dame Nation.

Pitt Script Blog: For years, we've heard that if ND were to join a conference, it would join the Big Ten due to its proximity.  However, this week, several writers have been saying that the ACC would be a better fit.  How would you like to see everything play out?

Subway Domer: Independence yesterday, independence today, and independence tomorrow. Notre Dame will most likely stay INDEPENDENT.

Whatever scenario that exists that would force ND's hand to join a conference, the Irish would most likely end up in the ACC, and personally I'd be fine with that choice.

Writers know nothing. They write what they hope happens- not what is probably going to happen. Plus, if it's ND, it gets you more reads. That is a scientific fact.

Pitt Script Blog: Tommy Rees was not a highly recruited QB out of high school, half of his offers were from MAC schools.  Yet when he is the starting QB, the Irish are 5-1.  Is he the QB of the future?

Subway Domer: He is certainly the QB of the present. However, if we want to get technical about it, the QB of the future is freshman Everett Golson.

Golson possesses all of the traits needed to run the Brian Kelly offense fully full on. I strongly believe he will end up being redshirted this year. Still, that puts him at freshman eligibility next year while Rees will be a junior.
He is the future, but I can't say when that future will happen.

Pitt Script Blog: On paper, it looks like the Irish should shred Pitt's 119th ranked pass defense...yet Notre Dame is 1-5 against the BIG EAST dating back to 2006.  Predictions for Saturday?

Subway Domer: I really pay no attention to the whole conference record thing. It means nothing, and means even less when toe meets leather.

Notre Dame scaled back the passing game last week and took a more conservative approach. It was similar in how they played and won their last 4 games of 2010. I expect something very similar. 23-27 pass attempts. However, it will be very efficient, and yes... It helps that the PITT secondary hasn't played particularly well. Gray & Wood will be used in heavy doses.

A lot of people are pointing to PITT's offensive line woes and the emergence of All-Life-Puma-Supreme-Commander-Destroyer... Aaron Lynch, as a reason to say that ND will get a lot of pressure on Sunseri. I agree.

The bigger problem for PITT is that Notre Dame just held Michigan State to 29 yards rushing. Ray Graham may have a rough day.

Irish win with their most consistent offensive effort this year, and behind a defense that is licking his chops.

Notre Dame 38 PITT 17

This was the video that got it all started a few years back for The Fighting Wannstaches.  It worked then, we figured let's break it out again.
